This floating prefab hotel in a marine reserve near Avignon, France is wrapped with timber screens that allows it to blend into its beautiful surroundings. Atelier Lavit constructed the floating structures off-site and reconstructed them on-site over a period of three months. The completed suites feature large skylights and wraparound porches that fully immerse visitors in nature.
Each of the units of this sustainable getaway is connected to the mainland via a wooden ramp. The rooms are either circular or square-shaped and built using natural paneled wood. The team designed the prefab suites to be easily transported and assembled on-site with reduced installation costs and low environmental impact.
Large sliding doors and overhead skylights fill the spaces with natural light and offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Wraparound decks are enveloped in timber screens which provide additional privacy.
